Gotta clue? If you chose the modern-day cellphone, you were correct.  Like humans who have strengths that can be overused, cellphones provide tremendous benefits to connect people to each other and information. However, if overused, has huge costs to focus, empathy, emotional intelligence, and innovation.  Many are unaware they are addicted to their cellphone and would excuse that idea away just as a person might who’s addicted to drugs.

  1. Set aside one day a week to be 100% off your phone,
  2. Use apps to help you limit your usage like Space, Forest, Moment, Flipd, and Screentime,
  3. Don’t charge your phone near your bed,
  4. Put your phone away when you walk in the door,
  5. Change your phone settings; turn off notifications, set screen to black-and-white, use airplane mode, turn on do not disturb.
